A native of Mississippi, Maurice Smith has been one of Los Angeles’ most sought after vocalist for years. He has graced the stage with some of the industry’s elites. Smith has graced the stage with Beyonce, Kanye West, Chance The Rapper, Ty Dolla Sign, DMX, Seal, and Leann Rimes just to name a few. Smith also appeared on the Grammy Nominated single, Spirit, from Disney’s, The Lion King: The Gift, with Beyonce. He also appeared on the Grammy Winning, Jesus is King album with Kanye West. Maurice Smith has worked on projects nominated for several Grammy’s, A Golden Globe for Best Original Song, Critics Choice Movie Award, and two Soul Train Music Awards. Smith was also featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk alongside hip hop legend, Too Short.

 As a solo artist, Maurice Smith has released two EP’s which received critical acclaim entitled, Private Use Only: Vol. 1 & Delta Soul. Both projects garnered praise and comparisons to the late greats, Marvin Gaye & Curtis Mayfield. Smith has also been a staple in the House Music scene where he has been featured on several projects from international DJ Juan Hoerni which received remixes from House legends, DJ Roy Davis Jr and Terry Hunter. Smith and Hoerni went on to tour Italy with their singles, Let It Go, and “Fantasy”.

Maurice Smith can be found weekly inside of The Wayfarer Hotel’s, Lilly Rose, which has become a Friday night staple in Southern California. For two years now, Smith has been providing SoCal with the premier live R&B night.
